Since the Covid-19 outbreak, the world has slowed down and pressure has been taken off the environment. Less people are out and about in cars and more people are finally going on those walks they have been meaning to go on for the past couple of years. As a global community, we are coming together to help each other, and it is really heart-warming to see this. We are taking less advantage of the resources from our planet and taking advantage of our planet, itself.
Since the outbreak, air pollution levels have plummeted across Europe and China. There has been a significant reduction in nitrogen dioxide, which is one of the most plentiful greenhouse gases.
France is officially in lockdown, therefore, there are hardly any vehicles, factories or any other air pollutants in use. The satellite image below shows the difference in air pollution, over France, in one year.

The world is pressing pause and Planet Earth is slowly recovering from what has been a very difficult few decades. Hopefully, we can learn from this and come out of this virus with a new attitude towards pollution. Perhaps, some of the world leaders will acknowledge this and enforce some rules relating to pollution. Maybe, we can alter our lifestyles, like we are doing now, to support and protect this incredible environment surrounding us.
There is good news during these awful times. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy.
